Rappottenstein, Lower Austria – In modern sports infrastructure, it is no longer just about technology, but also about customized solutions. An excellent example of this is the SmartArena floodlight system for the USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein. The venue, affectionately known as “The Fortress”, is located in the middle of the Waldviertel region and poses particular challenges for structural measures due to the differences in level in the terrain. This was precisely the technical challenge of this project: in order to achieve a uniform light point height despite the natural conditions, individually adapted poles of different heights had to be planned and installed.

The result is impressive: A modern LED floodlight system with 150 lux light intensity for the training pitch, which not only meets the requirements of daily match and training operations, but also sets standards in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability. The long-lasting COB LED technology ensures exceptionally uniform light distribution, is completely flicker-free and guarantees minimal light immission. SmartArena technology also impresses with its energy efficiency – thanks to low power consumption and low maintenance requirements, costs can be kept significantly lower than with conventional light sources.

The realization of this floodlight system is an important signal for popular sports: even small clubs can raise their facilities to a new level through targeted investments in smart technology – in terms of lighting quality and sustainability. Special thanks go to the USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein for the trust they have placed in us and to the electrical company Alfred Gundacker GmbH, which supported this project as a local partner with its technical expertise and handshake quality.
The Niederösterreichische Nachrichten (NÖN) also reported on the modernization of the entire USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein sports facility. The article provides further interesting insights into the overall concept and the modernization process of the entire sports facility.
