Kopfing / Innkreis, Upper Austria – When the sun sets and the excitement builds, it’s time for emotion and technology to come together in Kopfing. SmartArena teamed up with Lightmax GmbH to create a modern LED floodlight system for the Union Josko Kopfing sports club that not only impresses but also delivers lasting benefits.
The new 6-pole system provides an illuminance of 200 lux, meeting the requirements of soccer class II. The result is uniform, brilliant light distribution across the entire field – for perfect visibility, maximum safety, and a genuine playing atmosphere that thrills the audience.
A particular highlight of this project is the integrated Switch Dim control system, which allows the light intensity to be flexibly adjusted to training or playing conditions. This enables the club to regulate energy consumption while creating optimal lighting conditions for every situation.
The Union Josko Kopfing is also setting new standards in terms of efficiency thanks to state-of-the-art COB LED technology from SmartArena: the connected load has been reduced from the original 18 kW to just 11 kW – an impressive energy saving of over 35 percent. At the same time, the club benefits from higher light quality, lower maintenance costs, and a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.
The new floodlight system not only illuminates the playing field, but also creates a place where passion, precision, and sustainability come together. Players and spectators can now experience the sport in a whole new dimension – bright, environmentally friendly, and emotional.
