Helfenberg, Upper Austria – Founded in 1965, Union Helfenberg sports club is investing in future technology for its sports lighting. Both the soccer field and the tennis courts have been equipped with a modern COB LED floodlight system from SmartArena. The result: brilliant light quality, significant energy savings, and a sustainable overall concept that perfectly combines functionality and efficiency.
Thanks to the renovation of the floodlight system at the soccer field, the connected load was reduced by around 45% from 18 kW to just 10 kW, resulting in enormous energy savings. The new six-pole system provides uniform, bright light across the entire training field and complies with soccer class III. Thanks to intelligent Switch Dim control, the brightness can be individually adjusted to the conditions, which also reduces energy consumption.
The club also decided to equip the tennis court with a high-quality floodlight system from SmartArena. A two-pole system was installed for the doubles court – this complies with Class II and illuminates the two tennis courts from one side across the entire playing field. With a connected load of only 3.5 kW, the system proves that precision, energy efficiency, and visual quality are not mutually exclusive. Players benefit from optimal visibility and glare-free lighting that makes every match an experience.
