Hart bei Graz, Styria – Modern sports facilities today place high demands on efficiency, light quality, and sustainability. For this reason, SV SMB Pachern opted for modern COB LED floodlight systems from SmartArena and placed its trust in the expertise and know-how of e.denzel GmbH. Together, they were able to combine the high requirements for the new lighting concept into a well-thought-out and economical solution for the sports club.
As part of the modernization, two soccer fields – one natural grass field and one artificial turf field – were equipped with TERA Gen3r LED floodlights from SmartArena. The aim of the project was to create optimal lighting conditions for training and competition while simultaneously reducing energy consumption in a sustainable manner. With an illuminance of 200 lux, both pitches now meet the requirements for competitive play.
The existing infrastructure was used for the new LED lighting, eliminating the need for costly new pole construction. The spotlights were installed at a light point height of 16 meters.
In addition, an intelligent Switch Dim control system was integrated, which allows the light intensity to be flexibly adjusted to daylight or different usage scenarios. This has optimized energy consumption and reduced costs.
Thanks to the new LED floodlight system, the sports club not only benefits from significantly improved light quality and uniform illumination of the entire playing field, but also from energy savings of over 40 percent compared to the existing system. This reduces SV SMB Pachern’s ongoing operating costs and also makes an important contribution to a more sustainable sports infrastructure.
