Vienna – The demands placed on modern sports venue lighting are enormous. Particularly in urban areas, numerous factors have to be taken into account – from compliance with strict standards to avoiding light pollution. With the new SmartArena TERA Gen3r Quattro F, a lighting system has been developed that not only meets these challenges, but overcomes them with flying colors.
For the FC A11 Rapid Oberlaa, this LED floodlight innovation “made in Austria” is exactly the right choice to perfectly illuminate their sports field. This project was realized together with the company STICH® – Stichaller GmbH and impressively demonstrates how state-of-the-art LED technology can be used in densely populated areas without affecting the surroundings. The result is a perfect balance between standard-compliant illumination (all O1052 and EN121931 values are met), sustainability and efficient energy supply. Thanks to the special COB LED luminaires from SmartArena, it is possible to illuminate the pitch in perfect light without causing annoying glare or light pollution in adjacent areas. The lighting system has been designed so that the light only hits where it is needed: on the pitch. This precise light control and uniform light distribution is not only essential for optimum playing conditions, but also makes a significant contribution to environmental protection.
Poles with a height of just 15 meters were used for the floodlight system of the Viennese soccer club. The Quattro F also impresses with its high quality of light with 150 lux, a color temperature of 3000K and a CRI of 70, ensuring natural and pleasant lighting. Thanks to the DALI control, the ideal light intensity can be individually adjusted and dimmed for the respective conditions (weather, time of day, visibility). This creates ideal lighting conditions for players and spectators. With the successful implementation of the new Quattro F, SmartArena once again demonstrates that cutting-edge technology, sustainability and cost efficiency can go hand in hand.
