Graz, Austria – The Grazer Athletiksport Klub (GAK) has a long history dating back to 1902. Ahead of a potential promotion to the first league, the club invested in a new floodlight system for its training ground in Graz-Weinzödl, choosing SmartArena products.
In implementing the project, special attention was paid to avoiding glare on the nearby federal road and minimizing light emissions, as the ground is located next to a protected landscape area. For this purpose, the DLC shading system was installed to prevent stray light outside the playing field.
The floodlight system was equipped with different models from the SmartArena Solo Tera GEN3r series, including Solos, Duos, and Quattros. By using different floodlights, a customized lighting solution was realized to meet the club’s requirements.
FACTS:
- Average illumination of 300 lux and a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin.
- The federal road and high-voltage lines above the ground had to be considered in the planning.
- The DLC system reduces light emission to a minimum.
