Vorderweißenbach, Upper Austria – The Union Wippro Vorderweißenbach is sending another strong signal about the future of its club: after converting the training ground to SmartArena’s TERA Gen3r series in 2024, the next milestone is now the newly installed floodlight system at the competition ground.
The club made a conscious decision to continue the successful collaboration. The positive experiences from the first project, the high light quality, and the noticeable energy savings were decisive factors in the modernization of the main playing field. The new system was specially designed to meet both the sporting requirements and the long-term economic needs of the club.
The newly constructed 5-pole system provides impressively uniform illumination across the entire playing field. With an illuminance of 200 lux in accordance with soccer class II, the system meets all requirements for official competitions. At the same time, it remains particularly energy-efficient thanks to the use of efficient SmartArena LED technology. With a total connected load of only 16 kW, the new floodlight system is sustainable and cost-efficient, and also impresses with its excellent light quality.
An additional highlight of the new sports field lighting is the Switch Dim control system. This allows the light intensity to be flexibly adjusted as required. Whether for training or match play, or to adapt to different weather and lighting conditions, the DALI lighting control system makes it quick and easy to adjust the light intensity of the LED floodlights. This adaptability enables optimal use of the system in daily game and training operations and contributes to a sustainable reduction in energy consumption.
The modernization of the competition field marks an important milestone in the infrastructure development of the Union Wippro Vorderweißenbach. It creates professional conditions for players, coaches, and fans and symbolizes the club’s willingness to invest in modern and sustainable solutions in the long term. The combination of technical precision, stable energy efficiency, and visual brilliance creates an environment that promotes peak athletic performance while sending a strong signal for the future.
This project was once again implemented in excellent cooperation with Illumina – Licht & Service GmbH and clearly shows what modern sports facility lighting should look like today: bright, efficient, durable, and individually tailored to the needs of the club. The Union Wippro Vorderweißenbach can now not only rely on an impressive lighting solution, but also concentrate on what ultimately matters most on the pitch: winning games.
