Rappottenstein, Lower Austria – Following the successful installation of a new LED floodlight system for the practice field and the adjacent surrounding area as part of “Project 2024,” USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein is once again relying on SmartArena’s LED floodlight technology.f In collaboration with Elektro Gundacker GmbH from Rappottenstein, the existing floodlight system on the main field has now been replaced with a modern, energy-efficient lighting solution from SmartArena. The result is optimal lighting conditions for competition, electricity savings of about 50%, and consistent, modern LED lighting throughout the entire sports complex.

High-quality lighting with significantly reduced energy consumption
The new LED floodlight system on the main playing field meets the requirements of lighting class II and, thanks to modern COB LED technology, ensures particularly even and uniform illumination of the playing surface. The warm white light, with a color temperature of 3,000 Kelvin, creates pleasant viewing conditions for players and spectators.

Another key advantage is its high energy efficiency: Compared to the previous floodlight system, electricity consumption is reduced by about 50%. As a result, the club benefits not only from significantly improved lighting quality but also from lower long-term operating and energy costs.
The integrated DALI dimming system provides additional flexibility, allowing the illuminance to be adjusted as needed. This enables the light output to be tailored to different usage scenarios, resulting in further savings potential during ongoing operation.

A proven partnership: The entire sports complex equipped with SmartArena
As part of “Project 2024,” USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein had already opted for a lighting solution from SmartArena. As part of this project, the training ground and the adjacent area – which is used as a smaller practice field – were completely rebuilt and equipped with modern, energy-efficient LED floodlight systems from SmartArena.
The positive experiences with the first installation – in terms of light quality, energy efficiency, and reliability – formed the basis for this renewed collaboration. With the modernization of the main playing field now complete, the entire sports complex of USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein is equipped with LED floodlight systems from SmartArena.

Developed and manufactured in Styria, these LED lights stand out for their durable, low-maintenance technology and precise light distribution. Combined with the high energy efficiency of COB LED technology, they provide a sustainable and cost-effective lighting solution that meets the long-term needs of modern club and competitive sports operations.

High satisfaction at USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein
The decision to once again choose SmartArena underscores USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein’s confidence in Austrian LED floodlight technology. The collaboration with the regional implementation partner, Elektro Gundacker GmbH, also contributed significantly to the successful completion of the project.
Gerald Wagesreiter, Vice President of the USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein, is pleased with the result:
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the contractor, Elektro Gundacker from Rappottenstein, as well as to the SmartArena team for their excellent planning and professional execution. As a club, we are very happy and grateful that our old floodlight system has now been upgraded to a modern and energy-efficient one. This not only allows us to significantly improve the quality and illumination of our sports facility but also to sustainably reduce the club’s ongoing fixed expenses. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for the excellent collaboration and the successful implementation!”
With the complete transition to modern COB LED technology, the USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein sports facility is now yet another example of how existing sports facilities can be modernized step by step and cost-effectively.

The SmartArena team would like to thank USC Jungwirth Rappottenstein for the trust they have repeatedly placed in us and wishes the club much success in its athletic endeavors – with the best possible lighting conditions on the field.
