Burgenland, Unterfrauenhaid – As part of the modernization of its sports field, SC Unterfrauenhaid opted for a future-proof lighting solution from SmartArena: Thanks to the new COB LED floodlight system, the sports club has created the conditions for reliable training and game operations, regardless of daylight or the time of year.
Six poles, 200 lux, one goal: optimal visibility
Six poles were installed to illuminate the field; their floodlights achieve an illuminance of 200 lux. The system is controlled using Tridonic’s Wireless DALI. This wireless, intelligent solution simplifies installation and enables the club to flexibly select different lighting scenarios as needed – from dimmed training lighting to full illumination on game days – while saving energy and costs.
COB technology: concentrated light that does more
At the heart of the system is SmartArena’s COB LED technology, which is manufactured in Austria and pays off for SC Unterfrauenhaid in several ways:
- Uniform illumination: COB technology ensures an even light distribution across the entire field – without individual glare spots or dark areas.
- Energy and cost efficiency: COB LEDs operate with high efficiency and significantly reduce electricity consumption compared to older floodlight technologies – an advantage that directly lowers the club’s ongoing operating costs.
- Sustainability: The long service life of the lights reduces maintenance requirements over the system’s entire lifespan.
The project was carried out in collaboration with BE Solution GmbH. The result is a floodlighting solution that combines athletic requirements, energy efficiency, and ease of use.
With the new system, SC Unterfrauenhaid is well-equipped for the coming seasons – in any weather and at any time of day.
