Zwentendorf an der Donau, Lower Austria – SV Blaue Donau Zwentendorf is investing in the future of its sports facility and has chosen a modern floodlighting solution from SmartArena. By upgrading to a high-performance COB LED floodlighting system, the club has not only significantly improved the lighting quality on the field but has also taken an important step toward energy efficiency and sustainability.
Modern technology for optimal lighting conditions
As part of the modernization project, the existing lighting was replaced with a state-of-the-art 200-lux floodlight system. The COB LED floodlights used ensure uniform illumination of the entire playing field, thereby creating optimal training and playing conditions for the athletes and coaching staff.
Special attention was paid to the system’s intelligent controllability: With the integrated Switch Dim control system, the lighting can be flexibly adapted to different requirements. Whether for training or matches, or at different times of day – the light output can be adjusted as needed and used efficiently.
Sustainable, efficient, and future-proof
In addition to improved light quality, the new system stands out above all for its high energy efficiency. By utilizing modern COB LED technology and an intelligent lighting control system, energy consumption has been reduced by approximately 50% compared to the existing system. This not only significantly lowers operating costs but also makes a valuable contribution to the sustainable use of resources.
Respect for nature and the environment
The SV Blaue Donau Zwentendorf sports facility is located in the immediate vicinity of a sensitive natural area along the Danube. For this reason, another key aspect of the project was protecting the nearby nature reserve from light pollution. To minimize potential light emissions, the facility was equipped with the DLC shading system. This system enables precise light control and specifically minimizes stray light – an important contribution to the protection of the surrounding wildlife. That way, the light stays where it’s needed – on the field.
