Vitis, Lower Austria – The market town of Vitis is located in the northern Waldviertel, more precisely in the district of Waidhofen an der Thaya. Its sports club, the SV Appel Vitis, has opted for SmartArena to modernize its floodlighting system. Together with the store & more GmbH, two soccer pitches were equipped with SmartArena’s innovative and sustainable LED technology.
The existing light poles were reused as the basis for the new system. The new SmartArena LED floodlights offer a light intensity of 200 lux and thus meet the class II requirements. During the installation, particular attention was paid to a homogeneous, uniform pitch illumination – for optimum visibility and a better match experiences.
Thanks to the proven switch dimmer system, the light intensity can be individually adapted to the respective requirements on the playing field and thus optimally regulated. This not only leads to convenient lighting control and a high degree of flexibility, but also to considerable energy savings. In fact, by implementing this system, it was possible to reduce the connected load of the system by almost 50%. As a result, the SV Appel Vitis benefits from significantly lower operating costs and at the same time makes an important contribution to sustainability.
