Obersdorf/Pillichsdorf, Lower Austria – SCU Obersdorf/Pillichsdorf has carried out a comprehensive modernization of its floodlight system and opted for an LED floodlight solution from SmartArena. The project was implemented in collaboration with store and more GmbH. The existing six poles were reused – a decision that offers both economic and environmental benefits.
With 200 lux and a color temperature of 3,000 Kelvin, the new system provides bright, warm, and glare-free lighting for the playing field – ideal for training and regular games. The system is complemented by the SwitchDim control system, which allows for flexible adjustment of brightness depending on the usage scenario. Demand-based control not only saves on energy costs but also reduces operating costs in the long term – without compromising on lighting quality.
A central element of the new floodlighting solution is SmartArena’s Direct-Light-Control (DLC) shading system. It ensures precise light direction and reduces light pollution to a minimum – an important consideration for the neighborhood and for treating the environment with respect.
This uniform and efficient lighting is made possible by COB LED technology, which ensures even light distribution while delivering high energy and cost efficiency. The system is therefore not only sustainable but also future-proof.
Another advantage is that all SmartArena floodlights are manufactured at the company’s own production facility in Teufenbach (Styria) – a commitment to quality that stands for short supply chains, high manufacturing standards, and reliable support.
With its new floodlight system, SCU Obersdorf/Pillichsdorf is creating optimal conditions for training and games while also setting an example for sustainable, forward-looking club infrastructure.
