Guntramsdorf, Lower Austria – Today, modern sports field lighting must do much more than simply illuminate the playing field. It should provide optimal visibility for players, coaching staff, and spectators, while also being energy-efficient and meeting the requirements of the immediate surroundings. These were precisely the goals that 1. SVg Guntramsdorf focused on when modernizing its floodlight system.
In collaboration with Intelli.Group Dienstleistungen GmbH, SmartArena installed a new floodlight system on the existing poles at 1. SVg Guntramsdorf, which provides optimal visibility across the entire playing field with 200 lux and a color temperature of 3000K. By utilizing the existing mast structure, there was no need for a completely new construction – this not only saves costs but also conserves resources and significantly shortens the project’s implementation time.
Light where it belongs
Since the sports complex is located in the heart of the town and is surrounded by numerous residential buildings, precise light control was a key consideration from the very beginning. SmartArena’s DLC (Direct-Light-Control) shading system ensures that the light is precisely directed onto the playing field and that light emissions outside the sports field is reduced to a minimum, without compromising lighting quality. This allows the club to use its floodlights without restriction, without disturbing nearby residents.
The system is complemented by the innovative Tridonic Wireless DALI lighting control system, which allows for convenient operation via an app. Different lighting scenarios can be controlled flexibly and intuitively – from training sessions to games to maintenance lighting. As a result, the club benefits not only from ease of use but also from a significant reduction in energy consumption and lower operating costs in the long term.

Thanks to SmartArena’s innovative COB LED technology, 1. SVg Guntramsdorf benefits from uniform lighting of the playing field, combined with high energy and cost efficiency and a long service life. The floodlights are manufactured at SmartArena’s in-house production facility in Styria – a guarantee of quality with short delivery routes.
For the sports club, the new LED floodlight system represents a sustainable investment that harmonizes athletic aspirations with community spirit.
