Burgenland, Lackenbach – Where conventional lights once illuminated the sports field in Lackenbach, state-of-the-art COB LED technology now provides significantly more uniform lighting for the playing fields. SV Lackenbach has upgraded its existing lighting system at the competition and training field – the project was carried out in collaboration with SmartArena and BE Solution GmbH as the on-site implementation partner. The result is a high-performance LED floodlight solution that meets the requirements of both training and competition operations.
Cost-effective retrofit
Instead of building a completely new system, the sports club decided to retrofit the existing infrastructure. This saved resources and costs in the implementation of the new floodlight system. The new system achieves an illuminance of 200 lux on the competition field. The adjacent training field meets the requirements of lighting class III. The system is controlled via Tridonic’s wireless DALI technology. The wireless control of the floodlights significantly reduces installation effort and enables flexible control of lighting scenarios – from full competition lighting to reduced training settings.
Sustainable COB LED technology
At the heart of the new system is SmartArena’s COB LED technology. It ensures uniform light distribution without glare – a benefit that is noticeable to both players and spectators. At the same time, the technology stands out for its significantly lower power consumption compared to conventional floodlight solutions, which directly translates to lower operating costs. For a club like SV Lackenbach, which wants to use its resources wisely, this is a compelling argument – the new floodlight system is energy-efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable all at once.
Made in Austria
The SmartArena lights used are manufactured at the company’s own production facility in Teufenbach, Styria. For SV Lackenbach, this means short supply chains, Austrian value creation, and a single point of contact that manages both production and project implementation.
