Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria – The ASKÖ Ried has taken a significant step towards modern, energy-efficient sports court lighting for its tennis section. Together with the Illumina Licht & Service GmbH, an innovative COB LED floodlight system from SmartArena was installed for four clay tennis courts. Thanks to the new LED system, it was not only possible to ensure better illumination, but also to reduce the total output by almost 70% from 34 kW to 10.4 kW. The lower energy consumption leads to a significant reduction in costs and CO₂ and therefore makes a valuable contribution to the environment. In addition, the long service life of the LEDs and the lower maintenance costs also mean lower operating costs compared to the previous system.
At 300 lux, the new floodlight system meets the high requirements of tennis class II and impresses above all with the perfect uniformity of the light distribution. At the same time, care was taken when adjusting the 8-pole system to avoid stray light and reduce light pollution to a minimum – which is an absolute benefit for the area surrounding the sports facility.
As an additional feature, the floodlight system was supplied with DALI dimming. This ensures stepless, precise and flexible lighting control and the brightness on the courts can be individually adjusted to the respective conditions – whether for regular matches, training sessions or special events. In addition, the TERA Gen3r floodlights from SmartArena are completely flicker-free. Thanks to the highest quality standards of the floodlights produced in Teufenbach in Styria, the tennis players at ASKÖ Ried now benefit from perfect light on the courts and are ideally equipped for every training session and every tennis match.
